How Does Food Affect Meditation?

It's generally recommended not to eat right before meditating. Ideally, you should refrain from eating for 2 to 4 hours before your session. This allows the meditation process to flow more smoothly and effortlessly.
When it comes to food, everyone’s needs are different. Personally, I eat once or sometimes twice a day, including meat. However, I avoid things like cookies, chocolate bars, overcooked bacon, or fast food. It's not about rigid beliefs about what's healthy or unhealthy—I simply don't enjoy those types of foods.
It's important to avoid extremes in diet. For example, just because I eat meat doesn't mean I’m going to eat burgers every day. On the other hand, someone who follows a strict raw food diet might avoid all cooked or processed foods, including meat.
Eliminating meat from your diet can shift your body into a different mode where the adrenal glands become more active, releasing hormones like endorphins and adrenaline. This can create a sense of heightened energy, a feeling of lightness and activity. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that your spiritual vibrations have increased—rather, your body is simply operating under different conditions. People who eat meat can experience the same sensations in times of shock or stress. It’s important to note that the food itself is not always the cause of these states; our psychological or emotional experiences can have a similar effect.
Everyone’s body is unique, and some people may genuinely benefit from the experience of vegetarianism or raw food diets. But what I teach is balance—a steady, harmonious state.
I don’t give strict diet plans. Instead, I guide people to become more attuned to their own bodies, especially through the heart chakra. This allows them to naturally understand what their body needs—whether it’s a particular type of water or a specific food. For example, two salads may seem identical, but you’ll develop the ability to sense which one will truly nourish you.
When you’re in the store, you’ll start to notice whether your cravings are truly your own or if they’re coming from internal imbalances or "parasites" that crave junk food like chips, chocolates, or fried snacks. These cravings aren’t natural—they are chemically created, saturated with flavors that cause addiction. Your taste buds can become so accustomed to these artificial flavors that they begin to crave them, even though the foods provide no real physical or energetic value.
So, be mindful of your food choices. Learn to feel what truly benefits you, both physically and energetically. This awareness will help you make decisions that support your overall well-being and meditation practice.
