Friends, there’s a common misconception that meditation involves following a guide, listening to a soundtrack, or hearing someone’s voice telling you to relax or that your life is improving.
This is not meditation—it’s called self-training, or more accurately, self-hypnosis. It has nothing to do with reaching a true meditative state.
When you follow a voice or external guidance, you are not entering meditation. These are two completely different practices. Meditation is about turning your attention inward, away from thoughts, ideas, and emotions. The moment you're following something external or seeking a particular outcome, it ceases to be meditation.
